Your Switzerland Travel Guide

Switzerland is a very diverse country that has quite a few regions. Knowing where you are when you're traveling around Switzerland can be valuable, so we've highlighted a few of the top destinations for tourists so you can learn a bit more about the areas.

Lake Geneva

Located on the northern shores of Lake Geneva, or Lac Léman, this section of Switzerland borders the Jura section of the alps, and is a popular spot for skiing. The city of  Geneva is well known internationally for being home to over 200 governmental organizations, and is often the meeting site of international leaders. It is also a great place to experience the culture and arts that Switzerland has to offer.

Bernese Highlands

Home to the majestic Bernese Alps, this is a great section of Switzerland to do hiking, skiing and rock climbing. It's also home to the city of Interlaken, which is considered the outoor and action sports capital of Switzerland. Tourists flock to the city to partake in skydiving, bungee jumping, white water rafting and canyoning. If you're looking for a place to stay, I would recommend the Backpackers Villa Sonnenhof, Interlaken which is one of the best hostels in Interlaken Switzerland.

Bernese Lowlands

A beautiful and less mountainous section of Switzerland, the Bernsese Lowlands have many French and German influences. The city of Bern is a historic town of Switzerland, with tons to do while you're there. View beautiful old buildings, go out to one of their many restaurants, or spend a night out and tour their bars and clubs.
